Malm Mural Plaster Is Stabilized
Jeff Foster, left, talks with EverGreene Painting Studios technicians Deborah Uhl and Ed McGee. Deborah and Ed were on site to stabilize the plaster on which the G. N. Malm mural was painted. The painting itself will be restored later.
The enlarged image of the stabilized mural shows that much of the severely damaged plaster has been removed. The mural, covered with protective rice paper, and the stenciling above have been stabilized by injecting a plastic polymer into the plaster from behind the mural.
The restoration of the mural is a memorial gift from the family of Wayne O. Foster.
