Feds OK Final Opera House Plans

A Wonderful Working Relationship

Angela Shearer of the National Park Service, the agency that oversees properties on the National Register of Historic Places, has notified the McPherson Opera House that its plans for the renovation of the Opera House auditorium and creation of the Mary Anderson Arts Center meet Federal standards. This is the final approval necessary for the completion of the Opera House project.

Because the receipt of tax credits, both State and Federal, is an integral part of the funding of the Opera House project, special care is taken to work cooperatively and constructively with the Kansas State Historical Preservation Office, which represents the National Park Service on the State level, and with the National Park Service itself.
