The McPherson Opera House Now

Overview

The McPherson Opera House was saved from destruction in 1986 by the McPherson Opera House Preservation Company (now the McPherson Opera House Company).

On the National Register of Historic Places, the Opera House is considered "one of the best examples of opera house architecture in Kansas."

The restoration of the exterior and rehabilitation of the commercial portion of the Opera House are complete. The auditorium and arts center are scheduled for completion in early 2009.
